My book talks are coming at you from a librarian, not a reviewer. You won't find me talking about style or craft, why I think this could've been better or what worked or didn't work. I only do book talks on books I liked and want other people to know about. So if it's here I probably think it won't injure your brain if you read it.
Bailey knows she should have amounted to more. But with a college degree and nothing more interesting than the ceiling in her bedroom back at her parent's house to look at, she's more than happy to accept a job barbacking from her old friend Zane.
Zane who used to be just a geek, but who has now graduated to being kind of a suave, cute geek. He could almost make her not regret the last time they saw each other, but it wouldn't matter anyway - his new girlfriend Mona is slick and pretty... and seems to take a lot of smoke breaks.
Except Mona and the other bartenders that constitute Bailey's new range of friends aren't your normal students of mixology. They know that tremens come out at night - dark creatures drawn by the dull and slow-witted souls spilling from bars at closing time. Few bartenders have the ability to mix drinks exactly the right way - but those that do can give themselves super human strength, invisibility, telekinesis, or throw fire from their hands.
And it's a good thing too, because rumor has it that someone in town is trying to mix the Holy Grail - a Long Island Ice Tea. If they manage it, they'll live forever, and the powerful magic even failed attempts produces draws tremens by the pack... and with the the elite bartenders taking sides against each other, Bailey fears it's about to be last call - for everyone.
